I am a wanderer, an explorer.  I like spur of the moment adventures, finding treasures in the most unlikely of places.  I have a passion for capturing extraordinary views of ordinary objects and places.

Hi, I'm Wanda of Wanda Parsons Photography, and I am a Photographer based in Franklin County, Missouri (that's near St. Louis).

I am a mother of two amazing adult children, Kris and Tim, and am married to the love of my life, who just happens to be my willing photography assistant, too.  I wouldn't be where I am today without their support.

As I'm still building my Photography business, I do have a day job in Municipal Community/Economic Development where my photography and graphic arts skills are used in developing a variety of marketing material for the City.

When I got my first DSLR, (a gift from my children), I had no intention of turning photography into a business.  It was just a hobby, something I enjoyed doing just FOR ME.  But with social media, it became so easy to share my photos, that I became hooked on the praise and compliments (and likes) for my work.  I took a leap of faith and began entering local photography competitions and although it still feels strange to say, I'm an award winning photographer.

Most of my work up to this point has been in landscape and nature photography, for the simple reason that landscapes and nature are what inspire me and take me to that happy place.  I'm continually drawn to mountains, forests, oceans, lakes and even puddles.  I've chased many a sunset, and driven into a storm looking for rainbows.  And, the number of times I got lost on country roads ... well I've lost count.

I'm a self-taught photographer and artist.  I continue to learn and develop my style.  I enjoy capturing the reality of a scene and editing just enough to make it pop, or occasionally an image just beckons for a little Photoshop magic to transform it into a true piece of fine art.  My website gallery contains a variety of subjects, as I have yet to define a specialty.  I love it all.

As I've grown as a Photographer, and more people have trusted me with their memories, I've discovered a new passion for portrait photography.    I have realized how much I love incorporating people with nature and landscapes.

So whether you are looking for a new piece of art to decorate your home or office, a product image for a marketing piece, a portrait session (individual, family, senior, prom, children, engagement, maternity), or a photograph of a family heirloom or homestead, I'd love to be your Photographer.
